Swimming!!!

We took Henry swimming on Sunday. He and his mommy tried out the big pool first, but the water was too cold and he was not a fan. He screamed pretty much immediately, so they got out and went to the kiddie pool, where the water was significantly warmer...we have our theories as to why.

He was also too fat for his 3-6 month old swimsuit, so we had to put him in next summer's suit. My efforts to teach him the "Truffle Shuffle" have thus far failed, but its only a matter of time.

Henry and I spent another Saturday afternoon playing with the camera, because it's big time fun.

So, we went from this:

to this:
in eight weeks time.

Not bad.

We have learned a lot of things these past eight weeks. Crying probably means you are hungry, you just exploded in your diaper or you have a desperate, but honest need to burp [and has I have been reminded, you also probably just want to be hugged on a little.] I can see a lot of potential for this knowledge in the future.

We have learned that Diane CAN go two months without more than three hours of sleep at one time. Just don't ask her to provide any details about when something happened, or what it was about...or really pretty much ANY details about anything.

We have learned creative, new ways to be terrified. But, we have also learned the pleasure and total satisfaction in just one simple, fleeting smile. We have a long way to go, and sometimes I wonder how I'll ever make it through. And then I see this guy.
