The weeks are just flying by and Henry has transformed from an alien quadriplegic to a human being with full use and control of his limbs. For several weeks he's known about his feet and how fun they are to grab and also, how fun it his to shove his fingers in his mouth. Sometimes he's not sure if he wants to nurse or suck on his fingers, so he likes to do both at once, with not much success. If only we could all play basketball outside in the rain and not get wet.
Recently he's begun sitting up! This is very exciting because while he is the largest baby in the infant room at daycare, he's at a disadvantage laying flat on the floor. He gets a lot of drool dropped on him by the other baby's gaping over him. He can't sit up for more than a minute and you have to put him in the sit-up position, but soon those other babies better think twice before trying to snatch Henry's bottle out of his mouth like they do now. Don't say you weren't warned, babies (you know who you are...COLE!).
What else...Henry had his first cold and scared us half to death. He saw THREE doctors, was prescribed 3 different things and in the end, we took nothing and needed nothing...but time. Lesson learned.
Henry has also begun communicating with the mother ship (there's a planet out there populated with dolphins...I know it). He still sleeps like a 9th grader in World History, bobbing in and out of sleep every 30 minutes. We keep hoping for improvement but so far he's just getting worse and worse. Yeah!
We started him on rice cereal thinking that milk alone wasn't cutting it and perhaps that would solve our sleeping woes, but so far no improvement and he broke out in hives the 2nd time we gave it to him. The hives have not returned so we're moving forward with our plans to have him full before bedtime.
Henry has a very calm and peaceful demeanor. He's very laid back and happy. Even when he was sick and vomiting, he vomited with a smile.
