Update:

Henry is now crawling, pulling himself up and standing without assistance for a pretty good length of time. He stood yesterday for about 30 seconds and then I think he got bored and sat down.

He is also now playing his zylophone with the drumstick. TOOLS!!!!! It's like in 2001 when the apes picked up the tree branch and beat the poo out of the other apes!!!

He also can go over to his book basket, pull out a book and sit down and flip through it with genuine interest.

Lastly, he can wake up in the middle of the night for 2 hours and practice crawling! AWESOME!!!

Tonight dad is caucusing

...and I am at home with a sleeping Henry. I wish I could caucus too but didn't want to get a sitter for an unknown amount of time. It's been two hours already...geesh. Long enough for me to think about all the cool things Henry can do now.

He can:
  • Pass a ball back to you by rolling it on the floor, or throwing it to you.
  • Eat a whole pear or peach, unassisted...like we do. It's VERY messy but cute. It requires both of his hands (obviously) and takes about 45 minutes. I have video...will post eventually.
  • Laugh like crazy...especially at daddy. Mommy's not as funny, apparently.
  • Pull himself up and then bounce up and down and sway
  • Clap
  • Bang stuff together (even little cheerios, which is so cute)
  • Play games. His favorite is he touches you in the face with a toy, pacifier, food item etc. and you are expected to react in the same way you would if you were in a head-on collision. This gets lots of laughs and goes on indefinitely until you get tired of falling over and saying "boiiiiing!"
  • Drink from a cup
  • Say mama, dada, baba, ghee (kitty), and more recently appa (apple) and unk (uncle)
  • Walk if you hold his hands
  • Wave
  • Understands the signs Kitty, all finished, water and possibly "more" and "milk"
  • Understands (seems to) the words: no, mommy, daddy and daddy's home, Henry, Kitty, water, finished and I love you so much I could eat you. (okay, maybe not that one).
