Language Explosion

In the last several days Henry has turned into Helen Keller at the water well. Yesterday we were reading books and one of them has photos of babies (but not actually the word baby) and he saw the photo and said "baby!". I was stunned!!! I know by now this should be normal to me but it surprises me each time it happens. Yesterday I asked him where the ball was and he pointed to it and said, "There". Again, it gave me whiplash. Also yesterday I said, "Are you hungry, do you want to eat?" and he gave me the sign for food (which I started doing a few weeks ago).

He's also copying us a lot lately. I got a stupid New Kids on the Block song stuck in my head (The Right Stuff) and started singing it to him in the car and then he copied the humming hook back to me (oh oh oh oh oh).

The other note about this language explosion is he knows a lot of words he can't say yet...more than I thought. I can point to something and ask him what it is and he gives me the 1 year old version of how it's pronounced. I pointed to a zebra and he said "e-ah".

He can point to his facial parts now too, if you ask. So it's probably confusing for him when I say I'm going to eat his nose.
