We got to school and he seemed like his old self. He was excited. It was after 10:00 AM so the class was already outside. We went to the playground and I showed Henry who his new teacher was and told him to go give her his apple. She was on the ground, flanked by children, and he went over and said, "Here you go" and she smiled and said thank you and he said you're welcome and then his friend Zella asked him to go play in the sand box and he was gone. My mouth nearly fell open. This was in sharp contrast to how it's been the last 2.5 weeks with that other woman. He wouldn't go near her and he got hysterical when I tried to leave. Anyway, I went over to the sand box, took a deep breath and said, "Henry, mommy has to go to work now." and he looked up at me and waved and said, "Bye mom."
Yay!!!!! The nightmare is over! Justin went for lunch and said all was well and when he went to pick him up all was still well. Ashley is very good with the kids and we are all happy again.
In other exciting news, Henry is back to sleeping 12 hours a night. We have not had that since our trip to Illinois. He's been doing eleven hrs since then, which is still great but I don't particularly enjoy waking up at 6:15. Now he's doing 7:15 again and sometimes later. Let's hope it sticks.
Back to the weekend...we've had a lot of chores to do but it's a good 10 degrees cooler than it has been so it feels nice to be outside again. We did a bunch of yard work this morning (after going out to breakfast and playing on the playground) and Henry was happy to play with his lawnmower and car while we worked. This afternoon we went swimming (last time for the summer). Yesterday we went for a hike and Henry had what's now becoming a regular event for him...a nosebleed. I had these all the time as a kid and so did Justin. We did not have any tissues with us so we used my shirt. I was this pregnant bloody mess and Henry had blood all over his face and arms. The best was the wedding going on at the park and as we were walking back to the car the bride and groom came out. They'd been married about 10 seconds and then they see us sweaty, bloody, pregnant dirty people...and then the groundskeeper asked them if he could take their picture. I guess these are the downsides of marrying at a public park.
