16 Months

Henry continues to sleep and eat the same (2 naps, going to sleep at 6:30 PM) but there have been a few days this last month that he was able to go without a morning nap. I think we are nearing the end of the AM nap...probably by the end of this month is my prediction. He's still consuming mass quantities of food without being particular (almonds, asparagus, prunes, small amounts of dark chocolate, and miso soup were new favs this month). But just like the naps, there were a few days this past month he didn't seem as interested in food.

Henry has become SUCH a little boy. He prefers to play with cars, balls and dinosaurs. Lately we take walks around the neighborhood after he wakes up (before it's 100 degrees outside) and he kicks a soccer ball as he walks and then chases after it. He can do this for an hour. Or he'll want to sit in someone's gravel driveway and relocate their gravel to their grass. I let it go on long enough before it becomes obvious and then we go back to kicking the soccer ball.

Today we went to this little toy store called 'Anna's Toy Depot' http://www.annastoydepot.com/ and they had a box of dinosaurs. Justin picked out this adorable brontosaurus (plant eater) and Henry wanted nothing to do with it. He grabbed the T-Rex with jaws and red skin. It looks like a monster. Very hideous and scary but he LOVES it. He's been doing this dance/run around the house with his T-Rex in hand and showing Kitty and anyone who will look at it. And he says, "Rarrr".

Henry is now somewhat successfully eating with a fork/spoon. He plays independently with animals/cars etc. and make the sounds that accompany them. He just started brushing his own teeth this week (I do a follow-up afterwards). For the last 2 months naps consist of cuddling/milk and then plopping him in his crib (so no more rocking to sleep--YEAH!).
