Goats and chickens

On our second or third day at the farm, it just so happened to be goat killing day. For more on that story you can go here: The Stone House: I'm still an omnivore... barely...

Henry really adored the goats. He pet them and fed them and followed them around. They were all very patient except for one that decided to push him down. It happened so fast that I scooped him up and my camera slipped off my shoulder and the lens banged him in the eye. You can see the mark in most of my pics taken. Henry screamed bloody murder and after that the goats came no where near us.

As for the chickens, there were about 100 of them and they sang and sang and the rooster did his thing. Man, they're loud. And Shawna's chickens eat way better than most humans. They were getting all the compost from human meals like fruits/veggies/fish/beef/whole grains etc. and then their grain was the quality you'd find in an expensive box of 7 grain cereal.

When a chicken came near Henry he would freak out a little. I think he liked them at first until he saw one of them dig a worm out of the ground and devour him. For whatever reason that really disturbed Henry.
