Guess what Diane's thinking about today...

That's right. Elmo.

Mostly, I'm curious what Henry thinks about Elmo--in terms of his role in the world. I mean, he's got to be the most important "person" in Henry's life besides Justin and I. Elmo's face is on his dishes, his clothes, his toothbrush, his diapers, several toys, including an actual life sized Elmo that he likes to diaper and carry around with him. And Elmo's presence is not just limited to our house. Elmo is at the grocery store, on boxes of snacks, balloons, on other kids clothes and shoes. Elmo is in books, on CD's and most importantly, Elmo is on TV. Elmo is like the western toddler's version of Kim Jong Il. He's everywhere and as an American mother, I have no choice. If I want to raise my child in a democracy, Elmo is part of the deal.

Who knew a grammatically idiotic muppet could wield so much power?
