First Great:
Henry said his first sentence on Thursday. It was "Dada in the bath."
Justin is re-tiling our master bathroom so we've been showering in Henry's bathroom. Henry and I were reading books (what a surprise) in his room when dada came in to take a shower and then, shamzam---dada in the bath! It was very exciting.
First Awful:
Our Sunday ritual of late is getting kolaches at 7 AM (sigh) and then going to the playground at Central Market and I read the Times while the boys play. I looked up from the paper a few times and realized I didn't see them and then I started to get agitated. I went back to my article, finished it and then began to look for them. I didn't find them and I imagined all kinds of awfulness (like Henry fell down a hole and Justin was trying to save him and so he couldn't come get me, or Justin and Henry have been kidnapped etc.). After 20 min of searchingI full on panicked and was about to gather help when I saw my little boy run to me from afar, with his dad behind him. I instantly began to sob. I scooped him up and would not let go of him for a very...very...long time. Justin felt horrible. Henry was trying to move a boulder off in some ditch that I couldn't see and he was working tirelessly so ...yeah...anyway.
Next awful:
Last Friday our cat attacked Henry. Blood. Bruises. The worst. Kitty is lucky to still be alive. It was Henry's fault which means it was our fault. Not a good feeling.
What else....besides our bathroom wall caving in and our pipes all needing replacement (see tiling above)...I was pushing Henry around in his toy grocery cart and then I let go, not thinking it would fall over, and it fell over and Henry landed on his face...which is now bruised.
Second Great:
The black man won. Makes everything else seem minor.
