3 months!!! 33 months!!!

Eleanor turned 3 months old yesterday. She is changing so much so quickly. She is awake a lot more now. Usually 2 hrs at a time. She wakes up around 7, very smiley. She stays up 2 hours and then sleeps 2. Then up two and then either takes another long nap or short cat naps throughout the afternoon. Both have their pluses and minuses. She then is in bed for the night around 7. We start her bedtime routine at the same time as Henry's (6:00 PM). We take turns with who gets who. Henry's bedtime routine is bath, books and snack and cuddles and it's about 45 min to an hour, and Eleanor's is rocking and singing and then she becomes really drowsy and we swaddle her and place her on the bed with us and she wiggles and sucks on her paci until she passes out--also about an hour.

Eleanor has also discovered her hands. She of course eats them non stop but also rubs them together and stares at them in fascination. At night she prefers to sleep about a millimeter from me. I keep sliding her over to the other side of the bed but she manages to inch her way closer and closer to me (she uses her head to scootch over to me). I need to get her a sleep positioner b/c it's hard for me to relax when she's snuggled into my armpit. I would just move her into the crib but I'm too lazy. It's just so much easier to not have to get out of bed when she's hungry. I really don't even wake-up fully for these feedings.

Henry has been growing a lot lately. He's grown 4 inches since his 2nd birthday...2 inches just in the last 4 months and almost 1 inch in the last month!!!! Since we don't eat meat anymore, Justin and I have been very conscientious about making sure Henry gets enough protein and I think the result is he gets way more than he ever has before. He only needs like 14 grams or something. That's like a yogurt and a string cheese. Or 2 large eggs. It's really not hard to get. The cereal he eats as a snack has 14 grams in one serving. We don't have a scale so I don't know how much he weighs, but his body type so far is lean and he has these adorable little boy muscles.

On the bragging front...Henry can put a puzzle of the USA together and knows several of the states names. He learns the words to songs and books very quickly. His dad is the exact same--his memory is insane. Glad he got that from daddy b/c mommy's memory is only good for doing therapy (I remember people's stories, their faces, their feelings--but I can't memorize words to things very easily). I have not taught Henry letters but thinking maybe I should start? We'll see. On the motor skills front: Henry is hitting balls, throwing and catching and kicking very well but still not so interested in climbing much.

Potty training going well. He's dry at night--he wakes up to go. A couple weeks ago he had his first accidents and then none this week and..the other problem...is much better now. Maybe resolved? We'll see.

Aunt Rachel and Uncle Karl sent Henry a Mr. Rogers DVD and that's the current favorite right now. It's SUCH a great show. I wish they still made shows like that. It's quiet, slow and you can actually understand what they're saying!

Henry is excited about Daddy's birthday. If I ask him what we should get daddy he says "Monster trucks! and cake!" so he'll probably get that:-)
