20 Months

Henry turned 20 months yesterday. Wow, I say.

The words just keep a comin'. Yesterday he came up to me with one of his cars and said, "broke. dada fix." and I saw that the top had popped off. I told him yes, dada would fix it. (Why not mama?). Today when he was shooting baskets he kept missing and he'd say "ohhhh...almost". Very cute.

This morning I was taking a shower and he usually plays cars in the hallway outside the bathroom while I do this. We talk the whole time so I can keep tabs on him but today he decided to take the opportunity to explore. I was up to my eyes in shampoo yelling, "Heeeen---reeeeeeeeeey" and he would say "maaaaaaaaa maaaaaaaaa" but he sounded pretty far away. Finally he showed up with a bottle of perfume in his hands, and he smelled lovely. We had to do a hand and arm soak in vinegar and soap to get the smell out of his skin. Yay! This was all under the guise of a car-wash. We washed all his matchbox cars in the solution as well. He had a fantastic time.

Yesterday Henry was at his nursery school for two hours. They said he got upset when they went from inside to outside but otherwise he was fine. He cried when I left and of course I felt badly but at the same time I felt relief to have the break. I had never one time felt that way before. I think it's a good thing. I actually even had such thoughts as "Deal with it, kid" as I was walking away. I guess I felt that way because that place is so awesome. Any kid would be happy to be there. I'll have to post the little video I shot there with my phone. They're all at the table coloring and listening to music. It's very sweet.

Speaking of sweet, I'm getting massive affection from Henry lately. He practically made out with my leg this morning as I was brushing my hair. I knelt down and he hugged me very tightly and then he gave me like 5 kisses. I told him thank you and he gave me this HUGE proud grin. Then he told me he wanted to watch some helicopters (El-cot-tee) on the computer (ooter).

In other news, we discovered Henry loves the shit out of black olives.
