Henry scared us terribly this weekend with a very high fever beginning Saturday night and ending about 30 hrs later. His temps were between 103-105 with no other symptoms. He acted normally, ate normally and slept basically normally (we had to wake him constantly to take Tylenol/Motrin) and so Sunday he went to bed at 5:30PM and didn't rise again till after 8:30AM the next day. Justin slept about 5 inches from Henry two nights in a row--giving him medicine, taking his temp, and making sure he was comfortable. Sunday afternoon we made a brief attempt at visiting the ER but abandoned ship due to the long wait, the fear of getting something from all the other sick people in the room, and the amt. of times Henry asked to go home and eat. When we got home he was down to 100 so we felt incredible relief. I had to go to work Monday but Justin stayed with him and kept the little guy happy. He watched a lot of Mary Poppins and ate a lot of popsicles this weekend.
I went alone to Henry's parent/teacher conference on Monday and the teacher told me that half the class was out sick with high fevers. I can wash his hands and my hands constantly but I can't do anything about what he picks up at school. It's gonna be a long winter...
