Look what Henry found at school today (sent from his teacher to parents)
It is Wednesday and we are talking about squares in the room today. The morning started off with some puzzles, cutting, playdough and of course our favorite-- books. We were busy little bodies in the room using our fine motor skills and our words to share. It was time for snack and then off to the playground. At the playground today we were discovering our environment. We looked for acorns and leaves. While we looked around the playground Henry found an amazing worm. It was AWESOME. Soon everyone was interested in finding more worms. It was really cool to see everyone so interested and being so gentle passing the worm to each other. We then came in for circle time where we talked about the squares we could find in the classroom and we read the "Squares" book. We then played a rhythm game with the bean bags and used them to describe hard, fast, slow, soft, medium, and steady. The music was on next and the scarves were out for some more rhythm and gross motor skills. Everyone was interested in their own free time in the room before lunch while we took turns going to the bathroom. After lunch we went to the playground where everyone was helping each other take turns on the wagon. We took a walk around the school right before nap time. After nap we are going to work on tracing and coloring circles and squares for our shapes book.
