Eleanor's nanny starts tomorrow...I'm making a list of things to tell her.

Nursery/Diapers/Clothes

5. Aquí es donde pongo la ropa sucia.

6. Aquí es donde poner los pañales sucios.

7. Aquí está su crema del pañal.

8. Éstos son sus mantas.

9. Lo utilizo para cargar al bebé. Es un poco complicado.

10. ¿Tiene alguna pregunta?

Charlie Brown...

Our local library has lots of Charlie Brown DVDs which are now Henry's favorite. I recently checked out one called AMERICA and it's got the story of the Mayflower, the Declaration of Independence, Kitty Hawk and NASA. He's watched the mayflower story ("The boat one") several times already but this morning after breakfast he said, "I waaaaaaaana watch the constitution."

Baby stuff...

Eleanor has the best cooooo's. But they sound more like, ahhhhhhhhh and ooooooooooooohhhhhs. They are so sweet and girly. Henry has a very deep voice, even as an infant so I got a lot of grunting sounds from him. She sounds so pretty. And her smile is so BIG. I love it.

She's been taking shorter naps for the last 3 days. She takes several but they now last 45 min to 1 hr and a half. I wonder if her 3-6 hr naps are a thing of the past? She still can only handle 45 min of being awake.

This is what she's been doing last 3 days which is really different from when she slept all day and only nursed 3 times in 12 hours.

7AM Awake
7-7:30--staring, smiling, cooing, diaper change, milk drinking.
7:30-7:45 Stares at things in her swing and falls asleep on her own with no fussing.
9:00-9:30-staring, smiling, cooing, diaper change, milk drinking.Fussing begins.
9:30-9:45 Fussing in my arms while I bounce or rock her back to sleep or she's in swing
11:00--11:45 staring, smiling, cooing, diaper change, milk drinking, playing on mat or going for walk , etc. Fussing begins.
11:45--12:00 Swinging, rocking or bouncing (or walking in a sling) till back asleep.

You get the idea.

Tricycle Action

Henry spends most of his outside time circling our driveway on his tricycle. We generally have to pretend he is 'Frank' and I am Lightning McQueen running away as fast as I can. But, sometimes he just likes going for a cruise. It's always pretty ridiculously cute, though.

Two Months old! (tomorrow)

Eleanor weighs 1lb less than Henry did at his ONE month exam. And yet, she is still in the 50% for height, weight and head circumference. He was...a big boy. She is normal. I have to keep reminding myself of that b/c she's a full 2 inches shorter than he was at 2 months too. Wow.

Okay, so at 2 months old...Eleanor weighs 10lbs 10 oz and is 22 1/4 inches long. (Henry was just shy of 15 lbs at 2 mos.)

I still feel like I have a newborn. She is still sleeping A LOT. I tried to pay attention last night...she went to bed at 7PM and started squirming at 11:30 so I fed her. She began to squirm again at 2:30, fed again, and then at 5 she ate and I woke her up while changing her diaper at 5:40 and she was MAD and then she fell right back to sleep and then woke for good shortly after 8AM. She was back to sleep around 9. Up at 10 and back to sleep at 11 and at 4:00 she's still asleep. So, that's about 2 hours of alertness so far today.

Henry at 2 mos old. He got to wear those shorts one time.

Two great Henry moments today...

"You look like Cinderella, mom". This was after I put on a striped pink skirt he's never seen me in. I know he has never seen Cinderella (that would scare the bejezzus out of him) and we do not have the book. But it was very sweet. He was definitely complimenting me.

Tonight while he was taking his bath in Eleanor's infant bath tub (still) I was straightening up his room and I walked into the bathroom to find him laying down sideways in this tub (not easy to do since it's half his size) and he appeared to be cuddling up with a rubber dinosaur."What are you doing, bear?" "I'm feeding the dinosaur my milk."

Today...

I took Eleanor for her first walk around the block in the stroller today. I'm sure most parents do that prior to week 8 (almost) but Henry hated the stroller so much I didn't even think about it--and it's been cold. But today was nice so we did it and she didn't hate it! Henry rode his bike alongside us as we walked around the block.

Henry's been wanting some light-up shoes, "Just like Ben" so we got some at Sears today. They are super cheap shoes but he LOVES them. He wanted to put them back on after his bath. I had him try on a size 9 and they seemed too small but they didn't have a 10 in the Lightning McQueen's and he refused to take them off to try on any other pair. There's such a quick turn around on shoes with him so even if they last a month, it's worth it.

Eleanor is still sleeping a lot. Approx 18 hrs. She is still not much of an eater. She doesn't snack. She eats every 3 or 4 hours during the day and eats 2 to 3 times at night. If I was not co-sleeping with her she probably would only eat once and not say anything loud enough about it.

It really is strange to me how different she is from Henry. He used to nurse for 30 or 40 minutes each time. And it seemed to be constant. She is done in about 4 minutes. If I try to nurse her longer or before 3-4 hours she gets really mad and as soon as I stop trying she is all smiley again. I guess I'll see what the doctor says on Friday when we go in for her 2 month exam. He told me she would probably weigh 11 lbs and not be sleeping as much as she was at her 1 month. He was wrong about the sleep so we'll see about the weight.

Her smiles have gotten even bigger. She smiled a lot at Henry today. He's so cute with her!

Henry and Mae at the park

Mae's mommy had her baby (Hi Jane!!!), so we met Mae and her grandparents at the park. It was the first nice day we have had in a LONG time, and I speak for everyone in saying we were all very happy to be doing something other than playing Monster Trucks. However, we were really, really foolish and left the camera at home. And by we, I mean me.

Here are two lame phone videos of the cuteness that was, "A Trip to the Park."
